Big Joey

Hello, my name is Joey Hebert and thank you for visiting my website!  Last year we held the 1st Annual Joey Hebert Classic for Down Syndrome golf tournament (JHC4DS) and it was a huge success. Not only was it a day of fun but we raised over $35,000 to help kids like me with Down syndrome.

I'm almost three years old now and am a very busy toddler.  Down syndrome hasn’t held me back one bit!  In fact, I'm learning sign language and picking up more words every day.  In addition to my happy demeanor and captivating smile, I can now tell people what I want!  I'm even going to start pre-school in the Fall.  I'm still not sure what the future holds for me in terms of the challenges I will face, but I do know that with your help my prospects for a great life improve dramatically.  The money we raise helps me and other kids like me have a very bright future.

My parents (Colleen and Alvin Hebert) want to let you know that since last year's event was such a big success, we are already planning the 2nd Annual Joey Hebert Classic for Down Syndrome (JHC4DS). The tournament will be held on August 4th, 2008 at the Deer Run Golf Club in Victoria, MN. We hope we can count on your support in continuing to make this event such a big success!

What is Down syndrome?  It's a genetic variation of chromosomes, for which there is currently no cure or explanation.  What does that mean? It means that people with Down syndrome have various delays in cognitive and physical development. This varies by the individual and is unpredictable. But what is predictable is that people with Down syndrome lead fulfilled lives and are productive members of society. This is where we need your help. The Down Syndrome Association of Minnesota (DSAMN) in a non-profit organization that was founded in 1984 to support children and families with Down syndrome and offer resources to enhance their lives.

All of the proceeds from the Joey Hebert Classic for Down Syndrome golf tournament go directly to the DSAMN to support their programs for awareness, education and advocacy on Down syndrome -- giving me and others like me a chance for a fulfilled life. For more information on DSAMN, please visit their website at www.dsamn.org.  We really appreciate your support of the 2nd Annual Joey Hebert Classic for Down Syndrome.

Please click on To Receive an Invitation and enter your information so my parents can send you an invitation to the golf tournament.

Thank you very much for visiting my website and I hope to see you on August 4, 2008!

Sincerely, Alvin, Colleen, Chloe, Joey and Harper Hebert
